“Final Girls” Edit

For this project, I wanted to make a video to accompany the song “Final Girls” by Chvrches. I love the concept of the ‘final girl’ in horror, and I thought it would be fun - and maybe a little cheeky - to cut together clips of actual final girls from famous horror films and match them to the song. I used several of the classic girls [Laurie Strode from Halloween, Nancy Thompson from Nightmare on Elm Street, Sidney Prescott from Scream, etc.], along with girls from newer films and franchises, tv shows, and even meta comedy horror. At the time of this project there was neither a music video nor a high quality live performance recording for the song “Final Girls,” so I stitched together shots from Chvrches’ other music videos and live performances instead, syncing the lead singer’s mouth movements to the vocals of the song
